The Chamber hosted New Zealand based fund manager Chintaka Rangtunga (left) of Global from Day One Fund II. The discussion focused on the rationale behind having alternative assets in portfolios, diversification with angel investing, and ways of accessing deal flows via crowd funding, seed and venture capital. Additional the session overviewed returns from different asset classes and opportunities in the secondary market. Chintaka is one of New Zealand’s leading early stage investors and has invested in over fifty seed companies in New Zealand, South East Asia, India and Silicon Valley. |

NZCCHK Rugby Cocktail Dinner |

Timed to coincide with the 2015 Hong Kong Sevens, NZCCHK presented a cocktail and dinner featuring former All Black captain Wayne "Buck" Shelford at the Regal Hong Kong Hotel in Causeway Bay on 25 March 2015. Buck was welcomed to the event with a powhiri by Te Hokioi Ki Whanga Kakara, a Hong Kong based kapa haka group and guests were entertained by a performance of traditional Maori songs. After dinner, Buck spoke to guests covering a range of topics including rugby talent, coaching, politics as well as sharing anecdotes from his time with the All Blacks. A waiata was performed by Pauline Chen and Dr Michael Leung accompanied by the Apple Chip musicians to round out the evening. The event was supported by Quam, Bayside Dental and Air New Zealand. |

NZCCHK hosted dinner at Crown Wine Cellars Hong Kong with guests Sam Neill and Buce Chapman. Sam is well known for his staring roles in motion pictures such as Jurassic Park and Hunt for Red October. Bruce is Chief Executive Officer of the New Zealand Historic Places Trust and was visiting Hong Kong under the Hong Kong Government’s Sponsored Visitors’ Scheme. Guests enjoyed dinner accompanied by wines from Sam’s Two Paddocks vineyard located in New Zealand’s Central Otago region. |

New Zealand rugby legend and Rugby World Cup winning captain Richie McCaw visited Hong Kong and was guest at a dinner hosted by the New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Hong Kong held at the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel. The dinner also previewed the For Everyone brand of mineral water from New Zealand as it debuted in Hong Kong supermarkets. |
